How to Set Up IPTV on Samsung Smart TV in 2026: Step-by-Step Guide

Samsung Smart TVs run Tizen OS which handles IPTV differently from Firestick and Android TV. The app store options are more limited, sideloading works differently, and the recommended setup method depends on your TV model year. This guide covers every method that works on Samsung in 2026 – from apps available directly in the Samsung App Store to sideloading options for newer models.

Before you start: You need an active IPTV subscription with M3U URL or Xtream Codes credentials (username, password, server URL) delivered by email when you subscribed. If you do not have a subscription yet, see our free trials page for providers offering a no-card trial.

Method 1: Smart IPTV App (Recommended for Samsung)

Smart IPTV is the most widely used IPTV player on Samsung Tizen TVs and is available directly in the Samsung App Store. It supports M3U playlists and Xtream Codes. There is a one-time fee of approximately €5.49 after a 7-day free trial.

  1. On your Samsung TV home screen, open the Apps section
  2. Click the Search icon and type Smart IPTV
  3. Select the app and click Install
  4. Once installed, open Smart IPTV
  5. Note the MAC address displayed on screen — you will need this in the next step
  6. On a computer or phone, go to siptv.eu
  7. Enter your Samsung TV’s MAC address and paste your M3U URL into the playlist field
  8. Click Upload
  9. Back on your Samsung TV, press Reload in the Smart IPTV app
  10. Your channels will load within 30-60 seconds

Smart IPTV trial: The app runs free for 7 days. After that a one-time payment of ~€5.49 is required to continue using it. This is a player fee separate from your IPTV subscription cost.

Method 2: IPTV Smarters Pro

IPTV Smarters Pro is available in the Samsung App Store on most models from 2017 onwards. It is free and supports both M3U and Xtream Codes login.

  1. Open the Apps section on your Samsung TV
  2. Search for IPTV Smarters Pro
  3. Install and open the app
  4. Select Add New User
  5. Choose Login with Xtream Codes API or Load Playlist from URL
  6. Enter your credentials from your provider email
  7. Tap Add User and wait for channels to load

If IPTV Smarters Pro does not appear in your App Store, your TV model may not support it. Try Method 1 (Smart IPTV) or Method 3 below.

Method 3: Sideloading via USB (2022+ Models)

Samsung TVs from 2022 onwards running Tizen OS 6.5+ allow APK sideloading via USB. This lets you install IPTV apps not available in the Samsung App Store including TiviMate. Note that Samsung may restrict this in future firmware updates.

  1. On your Samsung TV go to Settings > General > External Device Manager > Device Connect Manager
  2. Enable Device Connect if prompted
  3. On a computer, download the APK file for your chosen IPTV app (IPTV Smarters Pro APK from iptvsmarters.com)
  4. Copy the APK to a USB flash drive
  5. Plug the USB drive into your Samsung TV
  6. Open the File Browser on your TV (press Home, navigate to the USB device)
  7. Find the APK file and open it
  8. Follow the installation prompts

2026 Samsung models: Newer Samsung firmware may block APK sideloading by default. If sideloading is blocked, go to Settings > General > System Manager > Developer Options (enable Developer Mode by pressing 12345 on the remote when in Settings). This unlocks sideloading. If Developer Options does not appear, your firmware version may not support it – use Method 1 or 4 instead.

Method 4: Screen Mirroring from Phone

If none of the above methods work on your specific Samsung model, screen mirroring from a phone or tablet is a reliable fallback. Set up your IPTV subscription on your phone using IPTV Smarters Pro or TiviMate (Android), then mirror the screen to your Samsung TV.

  1. Make sure your phone and Samsung TV are on the same Wi-Fi network
  2. On your Samsung TV press the Source button and select Screen Mirroring
  3. On an Android phone: swipe down from the top, tap Smart View or Screen Mirror, select your Samsung TV
  4. On an iPhone: swipe down from top right, tap Screen Mirror, select your Samsung TV (AirPlay)
  5. Open your IPTV app on the phone – it will display on the TV

Entering Your IPTV Credentials

Your IPTV provider sends credentials by email when you subscribe. You will have either:

  • M3U URL – a web address that loads your channel list directly. Paste this into whichever app you are using.
  • Xtream Codes – a server URL, username, and password. Enter all three when selecting the Xtream Codes login option.

Check your inbox including spam or junk folders if you cannot find the email. If credentials do not work, double-check there are no spaces before or after the username or password – this is the most common cause of failed logins.

Troubleshooting

App not found in Samsung App Store

App availability varies by region and TV model year. If Smart IPTV or IPTV Smarters Pro does not appear in your App Store, try changing your Samsung TV’s region in Settings > General > System Manager > Language > Country to United Kingdom or United States, then check the App Store again. Alternatively use the USB sideloading method or screen mirroring.

Channels loading but streams not playing

Try switching the video player within the app if the option exists. Clear the app cache: Settings > Apps > select the app > Clear Cache. Restart the TV. If specific channels fail consistently, contact your IPTV provider’s support.

EPG guide not showing programme information

In Smart IPTV, return to siptv.eu, ensure your M3U URL is correctly entered, and enable the EPG option if available. In IPTV Smarters, go to account settings and enable EPG loading. Allow 2-3 minutes for the guide to populate after enabling.

Buffering during peak hours

If streams buffer consistently between 7-10pm but your broadband speed test shows full speed, ISP throttling is the likely cause. A VPN can resolve this. See our VPN guide for IPTV. Also try a wired ethernet connection from your router to the TV if Wi-Fi signal is weak.

FAQ

Can I use TiviMate on Samsung Smart TV?

TiviMate is designed for Android TV and is not natively available on Samsung Tizen OS. On 2022+ Samsung models with Developer Mode enabled, it is possible to sideload TiviMate via USB but it is not officially supported and may not work correctly on Tizen. Smart IPTV or IPTV Smarters Pro are the better options for Samsung.

Is Smart IPTV free?

Smart IPTV offers a 7-day free trial. After that a one-time payment of approximately €5.49 unlocks the app permanently. This is separate from your IPTV subscription cost.

Which Samsung TV models support IPTV apps?

Samsung Smart TVs from 2016 onwards running Tizen OS support Smart IPTV and IPTV Smarters Pro from the App Store. Older models (pre-2016) running earlier Samsung OS versions have very limited app support and screen mirroring from a phone is the most practical option.

Do I need an IPTV subscription to use these apps?

Yes. These apps are players only – they do not provide channels or content. You need an active IPTV subscription with credentials from a provider. See our reviewed provider list or start with a free trial.
